In Blog, Event Highlights by Phoebe LoydLeave a Comment

Red White & Booze has once again made its way to the streets of Aspen… But amongst all the activities, musical performances, and BBQ fun, how does one weigh out how and where to spend this ultimate birthday weekend for our one and only nation? Here Messenger Aspen highlights some of the best events that Aspen can give you- and making America great again – one beer at a time.

Enjoy As the Locals Do…

Start your day at 10:30 with a little Thug Yoga poolside to stretch out the liberties within you. Feel gratified, leaner, and ready to carpe the diem with a tasty brew provided by Aspen Brewing Company.

Head over to the Downtown Parade, on Main street in Aspen. Everyone decks out their float with their ultimate crew, throwing candy, riding unicycles, showcasing classic cars. True patriotism. Make sure to get there before the start time of 11am to secure the spot!

AVSC 4th of July Picnic – After the parade, go support the local ski team for the valley, AVSC, while enjoying lawn games, hot dogs, park fun, and the beer garden. Do it for the kids!

Then when things begin to heat up – head over to Sky Pool at 39 Degrees Lounge for their all day “Red White and Brew BBQ” where you can get your BBQ on to the musical stylings of Echo Dafunk. Jump in the pool – show off your skills- and enjoy the summer celebrations!

But remember to save some steam to keep the boogie going – this year Theater Aspen presents ‘Dancing in the Streets!‘ where a full on dance party will commence to the band Whitewater Revival. 8pm on Mill Street and Cooper Avenue Walking Malls. Or go see Thievery Corporation at Belly Up Aspen to dance the night away!

And last but not least – what we have all been waiting for! Pray for no rain, because the Fireworks Extravaganza beings at 9:15 pm… Celebrate America with a bang!!
