Fiyah, Fiyah, Fiyah our BOTW Tuyen Proctor and Grotto where she slings drinks, are just that, ON FIYAH. Tuyen (pronounced “Twin, like two) is like a local Phoenix raising back into our lives every summer after a departure for warmer weather during the winter. And we are always happy to have her back, just as happy as she is to be back in the town that she loves so much. She loves Aspen “For the People, and I can be more relaxed here,” and we can relate. Being relaxed is something Tuyen does well. She doesn’t sweat the stuff she can’t control, which is one tough thing for us human beings to do, and this awesome characteristic is probably why she has a smile on her face most of the time. Another thing that Tuyen does well that we could all take a lesson from is she follows her gut. In her own words, she’s “not going to live life wondering what if?” Now if that means taking the risk of traveling across country to see the man that would become her husband or booking a ticket to her next dream getaway, she follows her instinct and doesn’t have to ever wonder if an opportunity was missed. Speaking of not missing opportunities don’t miss one when it comes to checking out Grotto. The Fiyah is roaring down there these days because the local DJ and art scenes finally have a venue to spread their wings. If you seem to have reached your quota on top-40 music and the same four walls you see week in and week out, Grotto has a limitless supply on new flavor that is sure to satisfy. Enjoying the fruits of fresh and new experiences is another something that Tuyen and Grotto have in common.

Carpe Diem, y’all…Tuyen’s got this state of mind on lock down. It’s refreshing to see a person who can look both to the future and the past, all the while enjoying what she has at the present. If we learned anything from our brief little sit-down, it’s don’t sweat the small stuff because you probably can’t control it anyway, and listen to that voice in your head for you never know where it my lead. So, whether you’re in the market for some sage wisdom, a hilarious one-liner, or you need to dance the night away… come down to Grotto on Saturday nights and say “what’s up” to Tuyen.
