First, and most importantly ’tis the week of thanks. So before we dive into the mash potatoes and graaaavvvy – THANK YOU! Thank you for showing up and making this world lighter, goofier, and STUFFIN’ the dance floors with the best FLAVOR FLAV. We know this town has its own special sauce, and it’s because of all your different and unique spices. So let’s get our friends and family together, family friends, friends of family, and the friend’s friends and family’s of family…ermm what we’re trying to say is…let’s get together! Maybe even invite the neighbor next door. Make sure we reach out – cause we’re all in this together and with winter right around the corner (fingers crossed) let’s invite our new seasonnaires and workforce into this community.
There’s little wonder why the night before T-Giving is one of the country’s biggest drinking nights. Most people don’t have to drag themselves into an office the next morning. And families, however loving, are often more than a tad stress-inducing. But in Aspen, T-giving weekend — where Friendsgivings might just outnumber traditional family gatherings — is made all the more merry by the very fact that it is the evening before the lifts (are supposed to) start running. So the holiday (and the days and nights before) become not just a time to give many thanks, but a celebration of the hopes and wishes for the season to kick-off. So tryptophan be damned, get out and celebrate! In between your Uhlr (praise the high and mighty) snow dances, of course. If it is up to us NO ONE should be and will be left out of a good Thanksgiving meal (or two or three). Here’s a few a few community meals (and a sweet local show that will surely get the snow gods excited) going on next week.
